The DL501 0B5 transmission snap ring set ensures the clutch pack (pressure plates) is properly secured within the transmission housing. It prevents axial forward and backward movement of the clutch, helping maintain correct clearance and preload values.

This ensures the clutch system operates smoothly, balanced, and efficiently. Snap rings removed during pressure plate replacement or overhaul are generally recommended to be replaced with new ones to avoid loss of measurement precision and elasticity. A worn or incorrectly selected snap ring can cause vibration, knocking, clutch slip, and premature pressure plate wear.
