Description:
The N436 and N440 are pressure regulation valves within the mechatronic unit that control the hydraulic pressure of the K1 and K2 clutches. These valves operate according to signals from the transmission control unit (TCU), precisely adjusting the oil pressure delivered to the clutch pistons.

Proper pressure control ensures smooth launch quality, torque transfer, and comfortable gear shifts. Faulty valve operation can cause clutch slip, vibration, harsh or delayed gear changes, and engagement of protective mode. The N436 typically controls the K1 clutch, while the N440 controls the K2 clutch, and both are critical for balanced and safe operation of the dual-clutch system.
